PLYMOUTH City Council is sending out a stark message about domestic abuse with a special event in Plymouth today.
Survivors Empowering and Educating Domestic Abuse Services (Seeds) is holding an exhibition at Drake Circus shopping mall from 1.30pm to 3pm.
The display, part of Domestic Abuse Awareness week, will Balenciaga Purse Handbags show 104 pairs of shoes to illustrate the number of women murdered by violent partners each year.
The message from members of Seeds will be: "Never worn again, but never forgotten."
Replica Gerald Genta Watch Seeds survivors will be staffing a display stand which will also show 230 teddy bears - representing the average number of domestic violence incidents reported to the police in Plymouth each month where children were present at the time of the abuse.

Local Seeds coordinator Kerry Whincup said: "We hope the sheer number of shoes and toys will be a wake-up call for people who don't realise the huge scale of the problem of domestic abuse which claims the lives of two women a week in England.
"We also want to highlight the fact that children are often the ones who suffer most from domestic abuse which can leave them emotionally and mentally scarred in adult life."
